During the last few years Elise's focus has been on improving hospital food service in the NHS.

With adequate nutrition being a crucial part of patient recovery, Elise has developed and reviewed many menus to better cater to patient's medical, religious and cultural needs.

She has trained hundreds of front line staff in managing patient food allergies and special dietary requirements and has conducted countless audits of kitchens and food service areas to ensure they are compliant with food safety standards.

Elise is a committee member of the British Dietetic Association's Food Service Specialist Group (FSSG) — experts in the field of food service dietetics.

The FSSG are responsible for the Nutrition and Hydration Digest, which is one of five key documents that form The National Hospital Food Standards in England. Elise is the deputy chair for the 3^rd edition and is leading the review of a core chapter that covers therapeutic diet management. These diets are used to treat certain medical conditions, such as Coeliac Disease, which is managed by excluding foods that contain gluten.

Elise is also part of the team behind Nutridex. An online platform that is standardising the way nutrition information is published, so that food and health professionals can effectively meet people's dietary needs.

She is now working with businesses to help them provide extraordinary food service to their customers.
